Commitment to Affordable Education

National University's undergraduate tuition is 59 percent lower than the average tuition for private four-year colleges.

National University's commitment to affordability means a cost-effective, quality education for you. In fact, our undergraduate tuition is 55 percent lower than the average tuition for private four-year colleges. Financial aid is available in the form of grants, loans and scholarships. Our financial aid options and accelerated programs help manage costs and let you earn your degree faster so you can start your career sooner.

National University also provides reduced tuition to military service members and their dependents, Department of Defense employees and civilian contractors.


Special scholarships are available for transferring community college students, including:

  • Transfer to Success Scholarship, pays up to $5,000 and the $60 admission fee will be credited to the student's account. The scholarship award is applied to two courses within the first six months and the last two courses of your undergraduate degree. It is intended for students that have completed at least 30 semester units at a California or Nevada community college, or students from an approved out-of-state community college, who will enroll at National University directly from community college with the goal of earning a bachelor's degree. This award applies only to courses governed by the University's standard tuition rate.

  • Presidential Tuition Scholarship, pays up to $2,500 to undergraduate transfer students who meet certain criteria. Awards will be credited to students' accounts in increments, up to the maximum of the full cost of tuition per course. The application form is available online through the student portal.

Financial Aid

National University is approved for student financial aid by the Department of Education and is an approved participant in the Cal Grant program for current and transfer students.

Application Fee

$60 for students entering any degree or non-degree program or students who have been inactive for more than 12 months. For international students the fee is $65.
